Inspiration for the Future

When I see schools taking a head-on approach to dealing with the H1N1 scare, I know that my children are in safe hands. With this flu epidemic, it gives people anxiety about sending their children to school. In my children's district, that wasn't so. The school made sure they took every precaution when it came to preventing the spreading of this virus. They made sure the custodians had the best disinfectant, as well as the teachers. They also brought in professionals to give a presentation to the children to educate them on the virus and what they can do to prevent themselves from catching it. This slideshow was then also available via the district website to educate the parents. With a district that is so on-top-of-the-game like this, of course there is hope for the future of American eduCation!

This post is part of the MAT@USC Hope for the holidays event. Did you experience or witness something in 2009 that gave you hope for the future of American education? If so, please see this post for more information on how to share it.
